My name is Melissa McCarthy, but I am not the actress, nor am I affiliated with her, Jenny McCarthy, Sandra Bullock, or Jason Bateman in any way.
Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet world!
By day, I work my dream job as a full-time Behavioral Health Specialist in an inpatient unit. This is not my first career, though. When people see my resume, a common question I hear is what haven’t you done?
I have worked as a florist, personal care worker, sign language interpreter, teacher, caregiver, and photographer. Although I don’t consider it work, I have been writing music for fifteen years and performing throughout the Midwest off an on for just as long.
Why I Blog
It’s a lucrative industry. As of December 2016, I am up to an astonishing $1.73 in blog profits. Okay, so I’m not in this for the money. My love of blogging began when I first learned about it while living in Alaska. I’ve tried a variety of different platforms and began using WordPress in 2014. It was a headache making the transition, but a move I surely do not regret.
Blogs are a great tool for people who have something to share and that’s exactly what I’m doing here on my blog. It’s a place to share my quirky thoughts, my doodling, my music, and my thoughts on mental health!
One of My Favorite Stories to Tell:
How I ended up in Alaska. I was looking for a sign language interpreter position somewhere closer to Nashville so I could pursue my music career.
I found a job. In Craig, Arkansas. It paid well, so I mailed my resume. With the help of Mapquest, I realized AK is the state abbreviation for Alaska. Arkansas’s state abbreviation is AR. One of the greatest life lessons I learned.
Things I Do When I’m Left Home Alone:
I make music videos!
I take pictures of the dog!
I play with the fish!
What My Future Looks Like:
I am no fortune teller, but I see my blog someday reaching 5 subscribers. Within the next five years, I think I’ll make my first full dollar blogging, too.
I see more songwriting and a new CD somewhere down the road.
