I have a morning ritual when I go to begin my long shifts at work. There’s always the typical stuff that has to get done: shower, hair, makeup, etc. The important part begins when I grab my coffee and start the trek to work. I drive to the parking lot with 20-30 minutes before my shift begins. Bizarre, I know, but I use this extra time to make Snapchat stories.
I know what you’re thinking. Melissa, you could use that time to get more sleep? No. I am a morning person and I have been this way for as long as I can remember. If I am going to be awake and chronically early for everything, I may as well be productive.
Sometimes I look back on my Snapchat stories and wonder why I don’t have a restraining order, yet. For example, my Snapchat stories dedicated to my dear friend and coworker, Amy. She usually works nights, so I have a limited window of time to find her between the end of her shift and the start of mine.
By request, I created a separate YouTube channel dedicated to my Snapchat videos. You can watch me share my love of Moka — my favorite local coffee joint, see what happens when I don’t get enough sleep, and hear my commentary on different topics. (Like online dating, Hobby Lobby, and that one time I hired couch movers.)
I haven’t been as devoted to my Snapchat lately, but I will be diving back into it. My next Snapchat video series is going to have to be all about my famous name. It’s not easy being Melissa McCarthy and I am beginning to wonder if she’s struggling being confused with me?!
